Life Saving, Baywatch Style

A number of our scouts took the Life Saving merit badge(!), and as part of the learning, they had to be able to strip down and run out into the water to save a drowner.  Check these movies, and see if you can guess who got the BayWatch award for best in show.

Of course, we went into town one of the nights to treat everyone to ice cream (and check out Hoss's Store).  This time though, we tried the Custard's Last Stand, as we'd made friends with the owner a little earlier in the week.

A few items of note... we had one of our very first notable injury!  One of the scouts (who shall remain nameless) sliced his hand with a knife.  As it turns out, Doc Amernath was with us at the time... an E.R. doctor no less.  The cut wasn't all that serious, and the young man took it with exceptionally good attitude.

You may notice in some of the pictures that we also had access to a really nice tarp this year.  John Dooley was very generous in letting us borrow his walled in unit, and it made a huge difference in how we stayed organized.  Being white, it made lighting great for evening card games.

We were also pleased to see quite a number of family members and extra dads this year.  It was a great pleasure to have so many extra people around... it added a nice touch to the week, as we played host to so many.  I hope this trend continues.
